Tilt °
Apply terrain slopeapprox.
Structure follows the terrain
Side (east-west) slope only — tilt kept, height difference across the structure
Front-back (north-south) slope only — azimuth kept
Both front-back and side slopes
Keep level (ignore the terrain)
Spacing method By incidence angle Enter row start-to-start distance
Incidence angle(Incidence) °
Row start-to-start distance m
Description By incidence angle: the row (front-to-back set) spacing (pitch) is set by the incidence angle. Entering 0 calculates the pitch from the horizontal gap between structures (sets) only. Manual input: enter the plan-view distance (m) from the start of the front row to the start of the next row; the incidence angle and GCR are then calculated and shown automatically.

Show warning sets on the mapPurple outline · shown in step 2 (layout) only
Right after the layout, using clear days, only the shadows cast by the neighbouring sets of the same row are calculated. A warning is shown when the monthly loss exceeds the threshold for at least the given number of months.
String wiring
Wiring type U-wiring per structure I-wiring per row
About the wiring types · U-wiring per structure (default): one structure (2×8, 2×10, 2×12…) is one string. The string follows one row and returns along the other (U shape); the series count follows the structure size. · I-wiring per row: one module row is one line. For 16 in series, the same row of two neighbouring structures forms one string, and the series count is a multiple of the structure width. Only strings of the same row are put on the same MPPT. Changing the wiring recalculates the series / inverter configuration and the shading.

Modules in series EA
Configuration rules A standard set = 1 string (when it lies within the min.–max. range). Leftover pieces are grouped on the left side and on the right side separately, from the upper rows to the lower rows, within the inverter zone bands (2–3 rows) by the series count; only the few modules left over go to the next band. The last remainder is absorbed by lengthening the previous strings (e.g. 17 in series) or split so that it stays within the range. Orientation groups are never mixed. With I-wiring per row the same rules apply per module row instead of per structure, and a structure left over at the end of a row becomes one U-wired string. The electrical shading loss follows 'Electrical loss calculation' on the right: Detailed = this series configuration + MPPT allocation, According to strings = per set (PVsyst method).
